Brite Thoughtful Tip: Replace “should” with “want”
Need a better way to get motivated? Banish the word “should” from your mind vocabulary and you will find that you can accomplish much more.
By saying you “should” do something, like exercise, it immediately implies you feel the activity is a burden, says B.J. Gallagher, an inspirational speaker. Replace “should” with “want” and you’ll start to build positive energy.
So start telling yourself that you want to work out, you want to eat right, you want that dress from Neiman’s that has been waving its hands at you for the past month…well that last one might not count for this category. Mantra for today…”I want to _____!” Get excited about it, you are improving yourself while being kind to yourself as well – no pressure!
