Brite Thoughtful Tip: Are you THAT person?
With more and more web-based invitations, our response etiquette has nearly vanished. For those of you who have planned a party or event, you expect the receiver of the invite to respond. This clarifies the amount of food to be prepared, the tables to set up, the drinks to buy, etc. Unfortunately, many people haven’t been on the other side and don’t realize the crucial part of the rsvp. Even if they do rsvp ‘yes,’ they still might not show. If you are the recipient of an invite, take in account the host and all he or she is doing FOR YOU. Don’t be that person who commits but doesn’t show up. An invite is an invite, regardless of the form. Next time you receive an invitation, keep the host in mind. If you start being “that person” who commits but doesn’t show, or never respond, you will soon find yourself excluded from future invites. You’ll appreciate this when its your turn to host a party. So get out there and be the shining example for future invitees!
